Slope Safety Guidelines for a Memorable Day at Kissing Bridge
We're excited to provide you with essential slope safety guidelines to ensure a memorable and accident-free experience on our slopes.
Skiing and snowboarding are fantastic winter sports enjoyed by people of all ages. We want to make sure you and your family have a great time. Safety is a shared responsibility, and we encourage everyone to follow these guidelines to prevent accidents and promote a culture of responsible skiing and snowboarding.
1. Get Geared Up: Before hitting the slopes, make sure you have all the necessary gear, including a helmet, goggles, gloves, and appropriate clothing. Ensure that your equipment is in good condition and suitable for your skill level.
2. Know Your Limits: Stay within your skill level and choose slopes that match your abilities. If you're a beginner, avoid advanced terrain, and always ski or snowboard in control.
3. Terrain Park Safety: If you're heading to our terrain parks, remember to adhere to park-specific rules and follow the guidelines for features like jumps and rails. Respect other riders and be aware of your surroundings.
4. Slope Etiquette: Observe the Rider's Responsibility and Etiquette, which includes common-sense rules like yielding to the person downhill, staying in control, and using devices to prevent runaway equipment.
5. Safety Equipment: Utilize safety equipment effectively, such as leash straps for snowboards and ski brakes for skis. Keep your equipment in good working condition.
6. On-Slope Behavior: Ski and snowboard responsibly, staying aware of the traffic around you. Use caution when passing, and look uphill and downhill before merging onto a trail.
7. Off-Trail Awareness: Kissing Bridge Ski Resort offers a range of slopes, but we advise against skiing or snowboarding in non-designated areas. These areas may contain hidden hazards, and it's essential to stay on marked trails.
8. First Aid Awareness: In case of an accident, be familiar with our on-site first aid locations at the North and Central Lodges. Our dedicated ski patrol is here to provide assistance if needed.
9. Safety for All Ages: Families with children should ensure that young skiers and snowboarders are educated about safety guidelines. Supervision is crucial, especially for our younger guests.
10. Respect the Mountain: Help us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment by respecting our beautiful mountain. Don't litter, and always follow Leave No Trace principles.
11. Mountain Conditions: Stay informed about weather and mountain conditions by checking our updated reports and forecasts. Keep in mind that conditions may change throughout the day.
By following these slope safety guidelines, you contribute to a safer environment for yourself and others. We're committed to providing you with a fantastic experience, and your adherence to these guidelines ensures a memorable visit to Kissing Bridge Ski Resort. Have a great time on our slopes, and always ski or snowboard with safety in mind!
